Naples offers many canoeing possibilities; Crooked River starts at Songo Pond near Bethel, and meanders south to Sebago Lake. Canoe through some of the most remote parts of Cumberland County. Clas I and II rapids. The Chute River, also known as the World's Shortest River, flows between Long Lake and Brandy Pond. The Saco River, just a short distance away in Fryeburg, has a fast-moving current. Biking in the area can be both scenic and challenging. The Sebago Lake State Park picnic area offers many trails for the beginner and advanced rider. Many trails are used in the winter by cross-country skiers, but bike enthusiasts are developing some new ones. Riding on our narrow roads is dangerous but you will find the outskirts of town more relaxed traveling. Sunday River in Bethel is also great for mountain biking and rock climbing for those who enjoy a more exhilarating day outside. The information center can help you plan a pleasant ride.
